2008 to 2019 News Room Employees shrink by almost 25% Full article from Pew Research Center

There is an interesting paradox going on in Newsrooms. Whether it is Broadcast, Cable, Radio, Newspaper, news is a 24/7 business. There are certainly more news outlets than ever before.

According to a Pew Research study between 2008 and 2019 newsroom employees have shrunk by about 25%.

As a viewer when I watched the news I see many recycled stories, stories where news, made the news rather than reported the news, and a lot of opinion (opinion journalism).

I am chuckling as I write this…I wonder if these are some of the reasons why so many people are getting their news from social media
