There is a federal law that states that makes it illegal to be dishonest or deceptive in advertisements. It is called the Federal Truth in Advertising law. I don't think it is enforced often but when it is, there is a hefty price to pay.
Google and iHeart were involved in a recent breach with the Pixel 4. Wile it is likely a great phone, Google and iHeartMedia were sude over ads by radio announcers who endorsed the Pixel 4 phone, despite never having used the device.
